Will iReports be a must in a few years?

Incite World has announced the release of iReports. No it's not a version of an iPhone, or an iPod, it is an intelligent evaluation of life science innovations that is supposed to lead to the development of new medical products. Incite World began as a "virtual" company which provided expert consultant service to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostic companies. Incite World has developed a cadre of experts and serves clients with either a single consultant or a whole cross-functional team. The company is divided in INCITE Expert Support and INCITE Investment. This is probably a very good idea considering how the life science sector is evolving. The risk can be huge for an investor or for exits, but by using a skilled team that evaluates the path of development, understanding the scientific strength, medical viability, burn rates and revenues that come with medical innovation will be easier. The idea is great if it will work because this will mean many more investments in medical innovations and science break through, which can only be a plus for us all. I didn't like something though...a very egocentric statement: "In the next few years, the first question an investor or business development executive will ask is, 'Is there an iReport on this product?' "- Bill Pagels, PhD, Executive Director, New Innovations for INCITE WORLD. I hope he was just very excited about this project and that's why he made this statement. Maybe this will really happen, but it's just to much to state when you're just getting started.

SigEx Telecom : Would you post your question for the president on YouTube

by Ana Maria Ciobanu

What do you think about the CNN/YouTube debates? Are you the type that got in front of his webcam as soon as he heard this breaking news and recorded a question for the candidates? Are you skeptical like I am?The concept is very interesting and it's definitely working because thousands of video questions are being posted on YouTube, CNN is catching more popularity among young people, YouTube even more- as if they needed it.It all looks like a win- win situation. People are getting answers, companies are getting publicity, candidates are exposed in a rather human way to the public...Asking questions to the election candidates isn't something new at all. Video questions however are an innovation. Why do they need to give us the feeling we count and we need to be seen when what counts here are the questions and the answers? Sure it encourages people to record as many questions as possible, led by the thought they'll get to see themselves on TV...but this isn't necessary isn't it?Some voices have called the questioners naive, simple etc. CNN calls them "real", very real. I agree they reflect the American people but they're usually not a pretty sight. The questions are poorly formulated, the nonverbal communication indicatives are scary...and they reflect exactly why the results of the last two elections were the ones we all know and love.I would applaud a CNN and YouTube initiative if it would go in the direction of educating people. "Post on YouTube your favorite books and your opinion about them!" "Make a video to describe ten classic movies you've seen and CNN will award you 100 classic movie DVD-s!" "Who's your favorite classic music composer?" "What was your favorite history lesson?" After they'd have some pertinent video answers to these questions(and many other) I think they'd be ready to start this CNN/YouTube debate campaign.Maybe I should record this thought on YouTube and ask the future candidates about some of their favourite things...

Chris Cantell Discusses Pocketnews: Politicians on the interview

Everybody screams: Youtube is on fire! The latest invention certainly got my intentions and not only. More than 200 new videos were uploaded each day due to this project. Coping with CNN, Youtube wants to make the presidential debates watchable. The debate among Democrats Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, Christopher Dodd, Joe Biden and Mike Gavel was revived by the uploaded videos with questions of American people. Steve Grove, YouTube's editor of news and politics, together with Cooper and a team of editors and producers'including Sam Fife and David Bohrman, CNN's political director and Washington bureau chief , selected around 30 questions for the poll debate. It sounds interesting and definitely the site has more users than ever. Participating to the political life is one step closer to the future. If everything won't turn out to be like all the shows in which politicians answer the questions by avoiding them, then it will be great. The Internet is a powerful tool and this project is one from many more to come. Hillary Clinton already makes publicity on her web site and if everything goes well, many more will follow her. The interesting thing would be if someday there will be reconsidered the utopist idea of republic that Platen had, of people participation at the public affairs. All the laws and decisions could be taken with everyone's agreement if the Internet will be used in that direction. But what do I know? But these are only pocketnews. Stay connected, one click may lead you closer to the truth. Enjoy!

CNN talks

Or should I say brag. Ups! I said it. Anyway, like every year CNN starts to brag at the presentation to television critics in Los Angeles, but they I have some reasons to do it and that is why I don't totally disagree with them. According to Jon Klein, CNN U.S. President, and Mark Nelson, Vice President and Executive Producer for CNN Productions, the network will produce a documentary programming of 40 hours from CNN's in-house documentary, CNN Presents and CNN Special Investigations Unit. Also they said they had the best ratings since the Iraq war began, not to mention how successful the collaboration with the web site Youtube was. After finishing the list of achievements, they began propaganda of their purpose and to show off with it. That was bragging on the open or free commercial I would say. They believe they kept the politicians honest. Ha! Wouldn't you adore that? I have never seen an honest politician and I serious doubt we will have something like that any time sooner. But- there is a "but"- I agree with the fact that they have tried to get real answers to the issues that concern American people.
